Sultana \Sul*ta"na\, n. [It.]
1. The wife of a sultan; a sultaness.
2. pl. A kind of seedless raisin produced near Smyrna in
Asiatic Turkey.
Mmm.... sultaness biscuits. But then again, these biscuits are halal, so they probably couldn't have any human meat in them. I guess that means raisins, then. Oh well. The english, chinese, and arabic writing on the package give these biscuits an exotic air which they might not deserve. After eating them: Jen said "mumble mumble mumble". After swallowing, she continues, "The raisins hurt my teeth... ow."
These biscuits are crunchy and hard, which I suppose means they're fresh. Jen says they have the most generic bread flavor and the hardest raisins in the world. I tried dipping one in my tea, but that didn't help too much -- while the cookie part got soft, the raisins were still hard, giving it an unpleasant texture overall. I had kind of hoped they'd be soft, but they weren't. Jen's final verdict: "These are crappy." I thought they were okay, but they are a bit hard on the teeth after having a few.
